Tempest

The tea is quickly pre-dried on 6’ perforated trays in the first stage. In the   second   stage,  the   tea  “bubbles”  over another series  of  4’ perforated trays  that  carry the tea to the third  and final stage - the fluidisation zone. Dried tea is  “steered” onwards and  discharged - the fluff  moving  up  is  trapped  by  the  first  circuit.  This  new  system provides  for   a   lower  drying   temperature   across  three   stages, ensures  gradual removal of moisture and uniform drying of teas - from the surface as well as the core of the particles.

Features

Aerofoil Design Hot Air Fan - For  maximum  efficiency ,  the  Tempest  Hot air  fan  has been specially designed  with  Aerofoil impeller  blades  to  deliver  the  required  quantum  of hot air with lowest power consumption. A split-type outlet damper is provided for better air control.

In-built Front Feeder - A full  width feed conveyor  comprising a 2000mm wide imported PVC Belt with a spreader is providing to facilitate uniform feed, either manually of from a simple conveyor. The feeder also acts as a buffer for holding dhool for facilitating adequate feed.

Chamber Construction
- The  Tempest  is  modular  in  construction,  which  enables increasing of drier capacity by adding on additional modules. Double-walled, glass wool insulated panel ensure minimum heat loss and thereby increase the thermal efficiency of the dryer.

Centralised Control Panel
- An  operating  console consisting of digital temperature scanner(4channel), time delay mechanism alongwith a chain  condition monitor enables the operator to control the Conquest from a single control station.

Variable Speed Drive
- A variable  speed  drive  system enables the user to set the desired drying time. Three speeds for the first stage and twelve speeds  for 2nd & 3rd stages are available. This easily allows the dryer to adopt to specific operating condition.

Energy Efficient Cyclone system (Optional)
- A power  efficient  cyclone  dust  extraction system has been  specially designed to  pick-up only fibre and fluff, leaving the tea particles behind in the chamber. This  system  consists of individual cyclones with the extractor fans mounted on common hood. Dampers are provided in each fan to set the air balance.

Pneumatic Discharge Valve (Optional) - This new arrangement, consisting of a blower and pneumatic chamber helps to cool the dryer mouth teas  and enables single point collection on the either side of the chamber. Single point collection makes conveyorization easy.

Advantages

High Outputs - Modular  construction  enables  output  to  be  matched  to  specific  requirements. The Tempest   is  available in  five different sizes - smallest comprising 4-Modules and the largest comprising 8-Modules. An 8-Module Tempest will give an output of 400 Kgs/hr at 70% wither and air inlet temperature of 110 Deg C.

Qualitea
- The teas are brisk, fire - free, black with good bloom and liquor.

Low Power and Fuel Consumption - Coal  consumption  is  only 0.6 Kgs per  Kg of Made Tea and F.Oil consumption  is  only 0.2 ltrs per  Kg  of  Made Tea. The power consumption is only 47 watts per Kg of Made Tea.

Flexible Heat Source
- The  Tempest  can be coupled to any type of heater i.e. direct heater (oil fired) or indirect heater (coal, leco & firewood)

Gradual Moisture Removal - To  ensure  Quality,  tea  should without case hardening. In Tempest teas are fired across three stages at low temperature.

Variable Drying Time
- Tempest  allows  finer control  over  drying time. This enables it to adapt to any type of manufacturing.

Zero Spillage (Optional)
- Being  fully  enclosed  and fitted with an efficient dust extraction system, no tea particles escape into the drying room.

Easy to Conveyorise(Optional)
- Because  of  Full  width  conveyor,  the  Tempest can be directly fed from  the  fermenting  machine or by a conveyor. Pneumatic discharge allows for conveyorisation of dryer mouth teas to the sorting room.
